MATERIALS

I upcycle** out-of-service sports gear such as wetsuits, sails, bike-tubes and kites, wetsuit zips, old tents, climbing ropes etc. These materials take on average around 100 years to decompose in nature.

**To upcycle = to reuse (discarded objects or material) in such a way as to create a product of higher quality or value than the original.

The materials that I use to create our products are donated to me by fellow surfers, sailors, bikers, kiters, surf schools, sail schools and other outdoor enthusiasts who have been inspired by the Loved & upcycled mission.

Bike tubes and tyres are made from rubber.

It never fully decomposes.
Wetsuits are made from Neoprene.

Neoprene takes between 50 and 80 years to decompose in landfill.
Kites are made from Polyester and Nylon.

Polyester and Nylon will take at least 100 years - if ever - to decompose.
Windsails and sails are made from Dacron, Mylar, Kevlar and Nylon.

These materials take a minimum of 100 years to decompose.
